    Summary of changes:
  * The build and installation directories can be changed by the user
  * Added the 'uninstall' make target that removes the installed library
  * Added the 'distclean' make target that cleans the build directory
  * Changed the 'clean' make target to remove only files created by make
  * Changed the default installation directory to './local'
